An ancient Japanese healing technique with similarities to its energy cousins, Tai Ch'i and Ch'i Gong, Reiki is not only being used in hospitals across the United States for people but is recommended by many holistic vets and chiropractors for horses and companion animals.

Among its many benefits, REIKI CAN:

      * Speed Healing from Injury              *  ComplementConventional Treatments
      * Reduce Stress                                   *  Speed Healing from Illness
      * Increase Energy                               *  Heal old Emotional Scars
      * Increase Performance                     *  Improve Concentration
      * Relax Tight Muscles                          *  Calm Anxious/Nervous Behavior
      * Promote Better Sleep Patterns       *  Ease Chronic and Acute Pain

Reiki and its fellow energy systems--Tai Ch'i, Ch'i Gong, acupuncture and acupressure--attempt to focus and channel energy (Ch'i) to break-up energy blockages which interfere with optimal health.  Each of these systems manipulates Ch'i using either movement, needles or touch.  Reiki's use of light touch and ability to address the body/mind/emotional connection in illness differentiates it from the other systems.

Once considered a very alternative treatment, Reiki is now being taught in nursing schools and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) even conducted a recent study on Reiki.  Some 40 hospitals, clinics and hospices in the United States alone are using Reiki in their complementary/integrative care offerings.

As a Certified Reiki Master since 1995, I offer energy balancing and healing Reiki therapy for horses, dogs, cats, people and due to personal experience with Aspergers, Reiki for autistic children.

Reiki is a non-invasive, hands on healing session.

Reiki complements conventional western medicine without interfering with it.

Horses respond well to the gentle, natural, holistic energy of Reiki.

Some of the tense horses I've worked on haven't been able to stop yawning as I've worked on them.  Other common reactions include licking lips, sighing, drooping eyelids and head.  Afterward, many are energized.  Some may be ravenous.  Others remain sleepy.
